TCTC Terms and Conditions

The Terms & Conditions herein under are deemed to have been read, understood and agreed upon once the course booking has been processed. The terms and conditions are binding once the booking has been confirmed manually at any TCTC outlet (including organisations such as local councils taking bookings obo TCTC) or electronically through any of our online platforms including www.tctcmalta.com    

Kindly confirm that the details on the booking form/ receipt are complete and accurate before you commit yourself to confirming your course. If you think that there is a mistake, please make sure that you ask us to confirm any changes in writing.

Fees

Full payment of the course fees must be received by the date of the course commencement. TCTC  will only confirm enrolments when a deposit is made on booking. The booking value can be confirmed when booking online or with our booking administartors. Normally this booking is Euro 100.00 but can be less or more depending on the course. It is at the discretion of TCTC  to accept payment term agreements. Once a payment has been affected the applicant, a receipt and details of the pending balance will be communicated by TCTC . The remaining balance should be settled on or before the first lecture.

Methods of Payment

Fees and deposits can be paid by credit or debit card, by cheque or in cash. All cheques should be payable to the TCTC  and will only be accepted on presentation of the payee’s identification. If a company or organisation is funding the course, the applicant is requested to provide a signed company purchase order together with the booking form, as well a committment deposit generally 50% on commencement. Full payment is required within thirty (30) days from the date of the invoice or as specified. Payments for individual lessons must be paid in full prior to the scheduled session.

Late Applications

Provided that a course has not been closed for bookings, TCTC  may accept further bookings till the day of commencement of the course. A receipt will be sent via email once the student aplies for the course.

Overseas Applications

Contact details of the applicant must be provided when booking. The applicant must ensure that the details provided are in full and correct. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that the course is still available and that the booking has been confirmed prior to making any travel arrangements. TCTC  will in no way be liable for any travel or accommodation expenses and/or any losses howsoever incurred if in any event the applicant cancels the booking. No refunds of fees and/or deposits will be provided should there be a cancellation once payment has been affected.

International Visas

A visa is required in order to allow the applicant to study in Malta, unless the applicant is a holder of a Maltese/EU Passport. Visit the website www.mfa.gov.mt for more information. The applicant is responsible for the visa application process and TCTC  shall in no manner be in charge of following the application process at any stage. Once obtained, the applicant would need to present the passport and visa to TCTC ’s Admissions Office at least two working days in advance of the commencement of the course.

Students Under 18years

Parents or guardians of students under the age of 18 must should inform TCTC  if the student wish to  be allowed to leave our training premises by themselves either mid way or after the lecture. On th eother hand, it shall be the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure the student has arrived safely. At no time will TCTC  be responsible for the student before arriving, while on the premises or after leaving TCTC . For such guardian requests, a formal letter, that must be co-signed by the parent or guardian, should be sent or passed to TCTC administartion by the parents/ guradens before the course commencement. Without such formal requests, TCTC will not permit students to leave our premises.

Cancellation/Non-attendance by the Applicant

Cancellation or non-attendance due to illness or for personal or professional reasons does not entitle the applicant to a refund, waiving of remaining fees, extra tuition or a transfer. Kindly note that if any alternatives are offered, additional charges may apply. In any of these circumstances the student can only opt for a Credit Note that can be redeemed solely on training services by TCTC and which will be valid for 3 to 6 months.

Refunds and Credit Notes

In no event a refund is allowed by TCTC. It is at the discretion of TCTC to issue a Credit Note which is VALID ONLY for 3 months and that, upon approved and sole discretion of TCTC Management can be extended to a further 3 months. No further extensions are granted after this period.

A Credit Note can be redeemed solely on training services by TCTC. 

In case, the payment refers to or includes Exams or Registrations for Exams, these services cannot be claimed through a Credit Note as Exams and registrations are not Transferable or Exchangeable.

Please note that in case of City & Guilds exams, the fee per exam is €150.00 each; and such booking cannot be refunded either as part of a Credit Note. ICDL mocks, tests and registrations also form part of the condition.

Grants

TCTC  will assist students to fill in the necessary forms to qualify for funding opportunities. However, TCTC  will not be held responsible for any changes or misinterpretation of grants, applications which are not accepted or processed by the ‘Granting Entity’.

Should the student fails  from the exam, he/she would need to respect the 4 month time windows for the funds to be granted. This means that in order for funds to be allowed by the Granting Compnay (exp. Jobsplus), the student should completed and successfull pass for the course within gthe 4 montsh time frame. TCTC invites students to refer to the funding/ grant scheme terms and condition on the respectively funding organisation.

Cancellation of course by TCTC

TCTC  reserves the right to amend or cancel courses, change course dates, substitute educators at any time. TCTC  guarantees one (1) working day notice when a course is cancelled or rescheduled. The applicant will be given an option to choose another related course or to be given a full refund of the course fees or of the classes cancelled. TCTC  will provide refunds within one month from notification. TCTC  will not, in any manner whatsoever, be liable for any losses including, but not limited to, travel and accommodation expenses arising as a consequence of any modification or cancellation of courses.

Rescheduling of lessons by TCTC

TCTC  reserves the right to postpone scheduled lessons. If a lesson is postponed by TCTC , TCTC  will ensure that the lesson is rescheduled keeping the same weekday(s) and time slots. The new course end-date will therefore be extended accordingly.

Attendance Certificates

A certificate of attendance will only be awarded if at least 85% of the classes have been attended. The student will be presented with a certificate at the end of the course or will be asked to collect the certificate a maximum of thirthy (30) days after course completion. The Attendance Certificate will reflect the details provided on the booking form. In case of international accredited certificate such as City & Guilds and ECDL, the certificate might take longer up to a maximum of 45-60 days. If need be, TCTC will issue a reference letter confirming student’s attainment.

Certificate reprints

If your certificate(s) has previously been received and since been lost, stolen or damaged, a certificate reprint fee will apply.

Exam's coupons validity

Exam vouchers/ coupons which are part of the course investment must be used within 6-months of course completion; or from their last exam/ mock sitting.

After this period, all coupons will be VOID automatically on our system.

This time frame mainly refers to students that have applied for ECDL courses during which TCTC would have allowed the ECDL Mocks and Exam coupons.

Students who wish to reschedule their confirmed exam session will incur an administrative fee if eligible to postpone as per the terms & conditions of the exam provider. As indicated above, students must take exam(s) within 6-months of course completion. Exams must be booked well in advance to ensure availability. Following the 6-month period, students will be required to pay for the exam vouchers at the official exam price.

Course Material

The course fee includes, where applicable, the cost of printed or electronic course notes and basic course materials.

While attending at  TCTC  for your training

While studying at TCTC , students are not allowed to install any software without the consent of TCTC  staff, or change any computer set-ups or passwords. Authorisation must be sought before students can use any external storage devices (such as USBs or pen-drives).

  • No mobile phone, games or any other similar electronic equipment, unless with the consent of TCTC ’s staff, is allowed to be used during class.

  • Smoking in TCTC ’s premises is strictly prohibited.

  • Eating/drinking in class is not allowed and any accidental damage will need to be paid for by the student.

  • No politics is to be discussed at TCTC .

  • Students are to handle all computer equipment with care.

Student Conduct

Students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and to recognise that other students may require support and assistance. If a student becomes persistently disruptive, TCTC  reserves the right to give a verbal and/or written warning.

If a student is dismissed for misconduct, no refund will be given neither any other alternative attendance. Students are encouraged to arrive for classes on time. Late entry to the class is at the discretion of the lecturer.

Course Delivery and Language

All classes are taught in English. Applicants whose first language is not English should note that they are required to be proficient in written and spoken English and be able to participate in group discussions and presentations in English. If all students and educator are in agreement, lessons may be conducted in Maltese.

Students’ difficulties and contact with your tutor/s

TCTC does not permit communication between the students and the tutors beyond lecture time. Our courses are of a shorth nature, and in case of difficulties related to course syllabus, notes, content and exams shall be addressed in writing via email to support@tctcmalta.com

Your difficulties will be addressed by of experienced administartors and will be able to reply to your difficulties within 48 hours.

In case of certain urgency, you are guided to contact TCTC on 21421784/5 or 21410852 and speak to our of our support administartors.

Public Holidays

There are no classes on public holidays, unless in particular circumstances, TCTC  deems it fit that classes are to be held as usual. Students will receive a reminder via email where a class is scheduled on a public holiday.

Attendance

On booking, TCTC will communicate course schedule to the student including all the details with the venue of the course. It is imprortant for the student to read carefully beforehand in order to avoid misunderstanding.

Students cannot any attendance or group without formal and written consent by TCTC.

Private Tuition Bookings and Attendance

In case of Private Tuitions sessions, here under are special conditions, that are implied over and above the ones highlighted in this document.

FULL Payment for PRIVATE TUITION sessions should be done at least 24 hours prior to the session either in cash, credit card payment or any other means of monet transfer available. As from Jan-2020, new policies came into place and without prior payment a private tuition session cannot be confirmed.

In case of cancellation of PT sessions, penalties may be implied on the student as follows:-

  1. Cancellation and/or postponement should be communicated by email ONLY, directly to our privatetuitions@tctcmalta.com, cc info@tctcmalta.com  in time for our staff to read during our official office as idicated hereunder. 

  2. No Telephone calls or any other form of communication will be accepted unless in exceptional situations.

  3. Penalties

  1. Any form of cancellation within the first 4 hours before the agreed session starting time, an administration fee of Euro 10.00 will apply. This will have to be paid by the next lesson. This condition also applies if the student is sick. 

  2. On the other hand, if we do not receive and form of cancellation and the student ignores or forgets to attend, an administration fee of Euro 25.00 will apply.

  3. No penalties will be charged, if the student asks for postponement or cancellation 4 hours or more before the lectures starts. This means that if the student is able to notify us 5 hours before the lecture starts, no penalties will apply.

Our office hours are Weekdays between 9am till 6pm, and Saturday from 9am till 1pm. During that time our office can be reached on 21421784/5.  We cannot read emails prior or beyond our office hours.

  1. TCTC does not accept cancellations and postponements at 6-8am for a lecture that starts at 9am! You must send an email the day before. If you are sick, a sickness certificate will suffice to excuse you.

  2. The Cancellation fee, if charged, will have to be paid prior prior to your next lecture and/ or being requested by TCTC to be paid via bank transfer or any other means of money transfer.

  3. Student should communicate with an electronic confirmation/ receipt of this payment with the Private Tuition Department.

  4. Students sitting for ECDL tests, MUST always bring the ECDL test coupons. TCTC reserves the right not to administer the exam if the coupon is not provided to the invigilator on the day. 

Community Training Courses Special Conditions

Students may apply at various offices including at local councils and/or online. This does not alter in any way TCTC’s the general terms and conditions in this document.

Payments for registration or for notes that are being made of booking are not refundable, in any way.

In case of projects, that asks for a deposit on booking, is only refunded by TCTC within 30-60 days after the course completion, and after the terms of attendance has been fulfilled. In general terms no refunds are allowed to students that have not attended the least 85-90% of their full course sessions including workshops.

Students should present the course receipt at any time of the course, more especially at the beginning.

Attendance should be consistent. Stduents are not allowed to deliberately and with their own free will change from one group to the other unless they have a formal written approval from TCTC. This approval is only allowed on the sole discretion of TCTC administration.

Data Protection

TCTC  endeavours to keep any personal information, divulged by the applicant, confidential in line with the latest General Data Protection Regulations. Such personal data will not be given to third parties. Personal information will only be used for educational, promotional or marketing purposes unless the applicant does not wish to receive such information.

Liability

TCTC , its employees and representatives accept no responsibility for any loss of or damage to personal belongings or property of the student, or for any personal injury to or death of a student occurring on the TCTC  premises and/or while (in case of) using transport services provided by TCTC , whether by fire, theft, evacuation or by any force majeure event. Nor is TCTC , its employees or representatives liable for damages for cessation of operation and resulting cancellation of courses due to an event outside TCTC ’s control.

Students are liable for any damage caused to TCTC  premises and equipment whether accidental or otherwise.

Copyright

TCTC  reserves the right and retains copyright to all promotional photographs, which may be taken of students on its premises as well as notes, presentations and any other documents for which the intellectual property is owned by TCTC . TCTC  will obtain permission from the student before taking photographs, and the student has the right not to be photographed.

  • No personal details of students will be passed to third parties, except the appropriate authorities, without prior consent.

  • In case of photographic consent by the student, same photos may be used to promote TCTC activities including Social Media and adverts.

Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions will be governed by and are construed in accordance with Maltese law, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Malta.
